We Are Here: Songs of the Holocaust

A Community-Wide Yom HaShoah Commemoration

Tuesday, April 26, 2022 | Doors open: 6:30 pm; program begins 7:00 pm CST
Temple Sholom Chicago. 3480 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60657

Illinois Holocaust Museum, Temple Sholom, Sheerit Hapleitah of Metropolitan Chicago, Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago, and CJE SeniorLife Holocaust Community Services present “WE ARE HERE,” a concert of songs written in the ghettos and concentration camps of occupied Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Conceived by Ira Antelis, hosted by Rabbi Shoshanah Conover, and produced by David Mendelson along with Ira Antelis and Jeremy Perlin, the concert will honor the memory of those who were murdered and highlight the artists and writers who, in the worst of times, continued to create. With a 25-piece choir and performances and readings from some of Chicago’s top artists, cantors, and leaders, this powerful concert will include a candle-lighting ceremony and memorial prayers.

This program is free to the public.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Program begins at 7:00 pm CDT.

Proof of vaccination is required at the door.
