Join Illinois Holocaust Museum, Sheerit Hapleitah of Metropolitan Chicago, Chicago Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Federations of Chicago, Champaign-Urbana, Springfield, Rockford, Southern Illinois, Quad Cities and Peoria, the Office of the Governor, the Illinois Jewish Legislative Caucus, and CJE SeniorLife, Holocaust Community Services for a virtual gathering in observance of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day).

The powerful commemoration will include remarks by IHMEC, Sheerit Hapleitah and JCRC leaders; an emotional reading of the Legacy of Holocaust Survivors and the Pledge of Acceptance of the Second Generation; candle lighting ceremony featuring stories of Survivors and grandchild of Survivors; a memorial tribute with participation from several Midwest Consuls General and statewide officials; and memorial prayers and song chanted by Cantor Pavel Roytman of Wilmette’s Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah.

Together, we will honor the memory of those who were murdered during the Shoah and pay tribute to those who survived and have made a better world for us all.
